Six Drawer Chest / Wellington
The 6 Drawer Chest, A.K.A. Wellington
Did you know that the six drawer chest is also called the wellington chest, and it was originally designed as a traveller’s chest in the 18th and 19th centuries? In fact, the first wellington chest was named after the 1st Duke of Wellington. Wellington chests or 6 drawer chests were originally used by colonial travellers and military men to carry personal possessions on long sea voyages.
Today, wellington chests don’t need to travel – they keep your personal possessions safe in your own home. These ash, oak and pine chests work well in a room that perhaps does not have a lot of floor space for wide pieces of furniture. The small "footprint" of the chest means you can store many more things in a smaller area. The wellington chests in our range are strong, sturdy and beautiful to look at. Choose from light painted wood with a matching solid wood top, the honey tones of the Toulouse Six Drawer Wellington chest, or the modern lines of the Catalan Ash wellington chest.
